Either way, this is incredibly immature behavior. It is enough to make me wonder if, as you say, the original interest she showed was entirely manipulative/fake for the heck of it.

This woman sounds like a walking time bomb, at some point she is going to be shamed or punished for this kind of behavior. This is a sign of a mentally unbalanced girl, in my opinion.

I think this is a great example of a man-to-man shit-test.

In the Hollywood version of this thread, your "UPDATE" post next week would describe how you took that exact guy down, in a track meet or a karate showdown or a dance-off or a chess championship etc. (you get the idea) and the entire social landscape shifted and nobody laughs at you anymore...
