Your mindset should be that you should be able to talk to her like you talk to one of your male friends. Do not try to impress her. Try to connect to her by asking why questions instead of what questions. And don't just ask questions, reveal things about yourself as well. Don't hide what you really think, even if you think she might disagree with you.

A possible answer to shit tests is to exaggerate. Maybe she gives you the benefits of the doubt and reads irony into your response. I think there wouldve been better ways to deal with this for sure. But just because you fail one shit test/one hoop she throws you, you're not out of this for good - just make sure you have a fun time at the date

My sense is that you're so invested in trying to improve yourself that you are forgetting that the other person, no matter how "alpha", has their own hopes, dreams and fears. Sure, you are being consistent with your "ideal" personality/mindset in your responses, but you also need to respond to where they are coming from.
