I had a really bad habit with nightgame.

For years, if it was a loud club and the girl was dancing with her friend, I'd kind of stand there, make some witty comment, dance for a while, then some other comment. The sets would always go nowhere. One of us would always leave before it hooked.

Of course, good game in this situation is to KEEP TALKING until the set hooks, then isolate and/or escalate.

Once I discovered this bad habit, I overcome it by repeatedly telling myself before I went out (out loud) that I wouldn't do it.

Sounds a bit bizarre, sure. I don't think it's necessary, but it worked for me.

Because what started to happen is that something would 'ping' in my brain when I fell into the habit...

Then, I'd transition into good game and things would usually go better.

My question is: what are your bad habits???

A lot of people don't even know of haven't even thought about the answer to this question.

Yet, the only way to improve at game is to identify and fix your bad habits.

How do I identify my bad habits?

1. Write field reports

Everyday I note down what went wrong with my key sets of the night, and how to rectify it next time. That's how I initially noted this 'sporadic dancefloor game' habit. Because I wrote it down several times in succession.

2. Get a wingman

A good wingman will observe your sets and notice your blind spots. They'll tell you the things that you had no idea you were doing wrong. I was a 'dancing monkey' during nightgame for YEARS. One day, a girl told my wingman this. He told me - and I'm forever grateful.

3. Contribute to PUA forums

If you're not lucky enough to have a good wingman or smart enough to notice and write down your flaws, post in a forum (like this).
