So I had a study date tonight and got to her place around 9pm and I instantly started gaming her a bit. Things progressed but we were basically concentrated on homework for the first couple hours but I would stop her and look straight through her eyes while playing cocky funny. She was loving it and so was I.

So around 12 or so we’re stuck on the homework and it’s either time to head out or find something else to do. This is where I believe my game got weak and need to improve. I couldn’t think of anything to do and asked for suggestions... first mistake she suggested going to the beach which was a block away in the cold stormy wind. We both had our hands in our pockets walking to the beach and she started pulling random items out of her pockets so I tried to slide my hand in and grab her hand but she wouldn’t even let me in the pocket! I was surprised as I had escalated a bit of playful keno back at her place that she didn’t want to hold my hand yet.

So we keep walking. Get to the beach and we were walking along some logs, she was in front of me and I through my hand on her hips to “help me balance” lol she had no problem with it and I saw it as a good sign. I asked and let her lead me to another beach spot once again giving up the lead... mistake 2? We get to the rocky point of beach spot #2 where there was a bench and took a seat together. I put my arm around her we chatted for a minute and then she asks if I’m ready to leave. This confused me because I wasn’t sure what was on her mind anymore and she seemed rushed.

We walked back almost to her house and I suggested we play Nicky nine door but when I was ready to go up to the house she grabbed my hand and dragged me away. I kept her hand in mine for about 5 seconds then I lightly released my grasp and she snapped it back into her pocket!

We ended up at her house where I grabbed my backpack chatted and joked for a minute then went for a hug because I wasn’t confident a kiss close would have worked in this situation and then I left. I’m wondering now that I look back. Is the hug going to send my right into the depths of the dark depths of the friend zone? Did I play it okay? What can I do to improve this situation?

She’s very open laughed at every one of my jokes all night long. Would make very deep direct eye contact and stayed up much later the she normally would have just to hang out but she seemed closed off when it came to touch. She also started texting me within 5 minutes of leaving her house to carry on conversation.
