This happened to me twice now. Very small sample size, I know, but the pattern strikes me as odd.

So both times I've met girls through this one friend of mine, and both times I was initially not interested in them. Though after getting to know them better, I started to like them because of their character Then they made the first move, like sitting on my lap, placing her head on my shoulder, outright telling me they think I'm attractive, etc. Buying me drinks, even. Basically IOIs that would tell you 'you can't fuck this up'

After sensing their interest, and getting interested myself, I start to invest more. I've done this by leading them to dance, then quickly escalating, as I'm generally not one to beat around the bush. So light touching -> touching hips -> grinding -> kissing(if she reciprocates) I then isolate them, talk about a bit deeper, emotional topics (nothing too crazy though, I talk about stuff like how they developed specific character traits and such). This was the turning point both times, from this point forward they both stopped being interested. Rejected my physical advances, but kept polite.

I asked girl #1 for her number the next day, telling her it was nice meeting her etc. She politely rejected, but is noticeably hostile towards me now. Like straight up insulting at times. I don't see this as my fault, since I didn't say/do anything retarded, other than show my intent. So if she wants to react like that, then there's something wrong with her imo.

Second girl is still friendly, however clearly lost interest.

This could be a plethora of reasons, some maybe not even having to do with me.

But I still wonder. I don't want to go down the route of thinking it's my fault, but it seems too 'on the nose' to be mere coincidence.

But while I did show intent, I never made it horribly obvious (=eg being your classical needy nice guy), I simply told them I wasn't sure about them at first, but I'm glad I got to know them better (=> bit of a push pull but also the truth)

Any thoughts on this? Perhaps someone has a similar experience?
