I’ve heard to getting professional shots done to throw one or two great photos on there is a good call. That being said, i feel like it can work against you if your other pictures or very low quality or boring in comparison.

But for this instance, $200 for 4 hours is obscene. Ask around and find a friend with a camera and pay them a bit, of find someone that can do $50 for an hour. You need a couple nice photos in an interesting area, not a full on photoshoot.

Go to the mall, try on nice outfits, and take pictures in the dressing room mirror with your cell phone. don't smile with your teeth showing, and make some gang signals with your hand. there, I just saved you several hundred dollars.

I would honestly just consult a friend, preferably a female friend, for help. They might not be as nice pictures but I’ve had girls take pictures of me where I look pretty good, the background looks good, overall good pictures. I don’t think tinder is worth the professional pictures and it can come off as tryhard

It is better to find an amateur photographer instead a professional one, i think they will put a better effort on natural shots.

Yes, but you don’t need a 4 hour session. Just 2 hours ( 1 hour setup and 1 hour shooting) is plenty and get 50-100 shots to choose from with different clothes and backgrounds, different facial expressions, body positions, angles - get photographer that knows how to get natural photos not model ones.

Outside at “golden photo hours” is best. This is roughly an hour after sunrise or an hour before sunset.

DLSR would be good but camera doesn’t matter as much as the person taking the photo.

Well worth it though. A single photo is responsible for 90% of my online dating success.
