TLDR: Overall a negative experience. Not worth the price, but still worth something.
Positives:
- Accountability
- Guidance from a more experienced person (probably the biggest pro)
- Introspection
Negatives:
- A package of rehashed psychological exercises
- Paranoid/insecure attitude
Cost: $2000
The coaching mostly revolves around Manwhore's suggestions on exercises/drills. If you're a quiet, meek person, you'll be recommended to work on vocal projection drills. Encompassing the individually suggested drills, you have drills that are more generally applied like emotional healing exercises, re framing past events. All the while, you are required to listen Eckhart Tolle on repeat. I actually enjoyed these all. You Skype with him to discuss your weekly field reports and then go over drills.
So what was so bad about my experience?
Red flag 1:
When I inquired about his coaching, he came off as skeptic, questioning my own motives and hinting that if were fucking with him, I'd be punished. Fine, whatever.
Red flag 2:
I missed one of our Skype coaching sessions. After this point, everything changed. It's like a switch went off. He went from charismatic and accommodating to stubborn and instigating. Then came a lot persona-non-Grata moments, where no matter what I did, I was a fuckup. He was very keen on reminding me and treating me as such. So it went from me really looking up to the guy to me just being utterly dissatisfied with his lack of composure. The guy may get laid way more than me, but I do not bully someone "lesser" than me to feel justified for anything. At some point, he was happy to inform me that one of his incel-like clients was doing better than me.
Red flag 3:
Lack of memory / attention to detail / projection. He would use this persona he developed for me, the fuckup loser, and re-interpret what I said in the past as so. There were two definite instances of him forgetting what I said and instead insisted I had said or did something else. And it's not like I could try to refute any of this, he was stubborn and more than willing to talk me down as if I were a rank below him in the military.
Closing thoughts: Manwhore says it himself. You have to do the work. He can only be the signpost and coach. I enjoyed being held accountable and talking to someone more experienced about my approaches, especially from someone at a higher level. That was easily the most valuable thing to come out of it. But the entire experience left me with a bitter taste. I wouldn't do it again.
When looking back and writing this review, I can't help but feel conflicted. On the one hand, I know I fucked up. Prior to me missing that keystone Skype call, there were times where I did not complete the works assigned on time. Later, I started intentionally missing our Skype calls because I couldn't stand interacting with the guy anymore. But on the other hand, I don't think those actions warranted such borderline abusive responses- especially from someone that's supposed to be a coach.
Ask me anything, I'll try to answer. I feel like this review should be out there though, as no negative or critical reviews exist. Neither do prices. And since he controls his reviews, he's never going to release anything critical. I wish I had more information prior. More than the manicured, glowing reviews.
Thanks for reading.
Edit: After four months, I'm happy to see that others come out to share their experiences.
One user that PM'd me had this to say.
Dude, I'm so glad you posted this! Because I've been planning to post my bad experience with Manwhore. Like you, I DID learn some use lessons training with Manwhore. However, eventually he shows his real psycho side. He FLIPPED OUT on me several times and last time he did it while I still had training with him. Guess what? He hasn't refunded me! Essentially he's stealing money from me based on his anger management issues. It's unbelievable. Anyway man, did you manage to at least finish his coaching program?
