I like your post a lot, it feels like you have useful info that shows what works and what doesn't for you as a result of actual experience. I think I'm going to try this out, 1-2 interesting questions to a hot girl, if I actually like them and connect set up date and share contacts.

I'm happy you are making progress but all of this is kinda obvious. The key is to make everything seem spontaneous/natural and make your intentions clear without being/look needy.

And getting numbers of girls you are not really attracted to is a double-edged sword. If you are a beginner that freezes in front of attractive girls it can give you some nice practice and teach you how you should be behaving with every single girl, but at the same time it could specially devastating for your self steem when something goes wrong with ugly girl. Ideally as a beginner you shouldn't even care about the results and just go for it and experiment with different approaches to see what works and doesn't and what could you do differently with each failed interaction o improve your chances.
