If you’re intentions are to date her then ask her on a day. You both want to be in the same page with things like this. If you ask to just hangout she’ll assume it’s just friendly.

Depends on the girl. Some girls don't like the pressure or expectations of going on dates, so they prefer to hang out.

Hangout - less pressure an obligation. Let your actions speak for themselves. If she tries to play the “I thought this was just friends” Card - look into her eyes and say something along the lines of “I could never imagine being just friends with someone like you” - then finesse the situation.
