Correlation ≠ causation, but I'd rather base my texting game off of this correlation than off of some jackass on Reddit who wrote a guide about how to text women but doesn't even know how himself. I've had so many people tell me that emojis are stupid or show that you aren't an alpha or some bullshit. Emojis work when used correctly. Don't be afraid to use them.

I don't know about more sex and all that but I think emojis add another layer to the conversation. They add a slight depth to the conversation and help avoid Poe's law. Any joke can be made 'sexual' with a simple 😉 or 😏. Any silly statement can be clarified as a joke with a 😂 or 😄. It just ensures that there are no miscommunications about intent. Makes one seem more open and approachable.

On the other hand I've had people reply to me with no capitalization after a period. kinda like this. makes the text look very bland and flat. it gives the impression that you're not really into the conversation. texting is more complex than people think and it's difficult to convey tone accurately

Bottom line is: Emojis help. But don't overuse them. You'll look silly.

I would say briefly just to break the barrier. Like to joke around like 🤤💦🍆 to joke and make some tension. But I see some guys using it too much and being deemed as the “guyfriend”.

Just like when you're talking in person, its not the words that are necessarily important, its the non verbals.

Emojis are the non verbals for texting.

If emoji users get laid more it's because cool people recognize them as the digital replacement for non-verbal body language.

Expressive people realize the limits of short, text-only messages ... especially when using subtle humor.

IRL they would smile, shrug , stick out their lower lip or raise an eyebrow. In text messages an emoji has to stand in.

Not just for humor but when you would reply to a person IRL with a huge smile and not say anything, in text an expressive person will reply with a whole row of smilies.

Using emojis correctly shows calibration.

Girls use them constantly, thus guy who uses them seems more matching. I don't use them because that's pretty stupid way of texting (and it's a small red flag against the girls using them). Idc about laid statistics

The explanation of the correlation: emojis are used by people of average intelligence. They have the biggest dating pool- other average people. It’s easier for them to find and connect with people similar to themselves.
