Are my assumptions about women wrong ? Asking the community about their take on women interests.

I believe women in average are not nearly as much interested in these subjects.

I have found that age, location, and social scene play a lot into this. But most of the girls I date are 25+ and working professionals, but 19 year old sorority girls.

That said, ability to talk academic versus DESIRE to talk academic are two different things.

I don't know a woman that doesn't have an opinion on intellectual property theft. I don't know one that enjoys talking about it in her downtime.

What is your opinion about it ? Is it reasonable to expect women to be interested in that or to find knowledgeable people attractive ?

Intelligence is at best a secondary attractive trait, like wealth.

Looks, personal chemistry/emotional engagement, and social status are much more important than debate skills.

It's hard to combine 2 completely different pursuits like intellectualism and romance/sex.

Just like it would be hard to combine any hardcore hobby/interest like skydiving, low-handicap golf, chess, etc. with a lot of women.

It's possible but it's a bit of a long shot. Just like if a girl you were chasing only wanted to date you if you deeply shared her interest in anime, cosmetics, microbiology, or whatever.

Are romance and sex less interesting to you, or impossible to enjoy unless you can indulge your deep interests or hobbies with her?

The two things should strictly speaking inhabit different planes of your being, one in your head or upper consciousness, the other one more in your gut or lower, instinctual consciousness.

You have to tailor your expectations. I have many of the same interests as you. It’s just a fact that whether male or female it’s a very small subset of the population that will be interested in those topic. An even smaller than can actually hold a conversation about it. An even smaller that are girls. An even smaller that are attractive girls. I mean if you find the one snatch her up but otherwise change your expectations.

From personal experience all you need is an intelligent girl. Whether she likes art or history or chemistry or math it really doesn’t matter. This opens up the dating pool. From there you can combine topics u like with topics she likes. She likes social media? Talk about psychology of Instagram. Talk about how maybe people are better understood as nodes in a network rather than individuals. She like chemistry? Talk about how she knows what data she should consider evidence. How does math relate to reality?

Basically you can intellectualize any topic and most people are very open to have their minds challenged and expanded. It’s only a problem when instead of using your broad knowledge to interest a girl with stimulating conversation you just want to debate the cutting edge complications of very specific narrow topics.

One of the greatest things about knowing philosphy is that it can be applied to any field and any situation. Create interesting questions and don’t overdo it. Catch the fact that you have a vast terminology most people don’t. You can have the same conversation saying talking about feelings and not qualia, reality instead of realism, emotional computers and not strong AI, made of mind and not pansychism etc

Are you seeking a mental compatriot or a heart warming mate?

Put another way, do you look at porn? If so, then mental run-ons don’t turn you on. Attractive women turn you on. Why should it be different for a woman? It is more relatable for you to think of yourself as her starring character in a romance novel than a co-author for your next peer reviewed paper.

Do you want to have children? That is another facet to consider. Someone who is nurturing may be a better fit as a parent/partner.

So - I agree with what you stated. The corollary between intellectual topics of interest is not the primary indicator of romantic compatibility, in my opinion.

Just some things to consider.

I think it’s completely personal what interests you have. In my experience the women around me (family, friends, partners) have been far more interested in such topics than men.
