When you text a girl that you just know there's a bit of attraction but no comfort, how do you guys make the conversation flirty?

I know you shouldn't fluff a lot by text but still it has to have some meat. Now I wonder if there's a point into actively making it flirty if the girl is quite cold through text. I'd rather just fluff like a normal person with the occasional tease and ask her out quickly.

But I see so many people talking about how they do over-gamy texts about "let's meet but I hope you're not a psychopath lol". That's seems so try hard to me. I used to do that, now I'm on the other end of the spectrum and I'm afraid I'm boring and that I don't hook enough. But there shouldn't be a need to hook through text anyways, right?

I sometimes get girls number and they seem attracted but then I chat a bit and they refuse to invite me to their house :<sup>]</sup> Dates are expensive and time consuming man.

TLDR : My text game went from clown trying to build comfort to escalation focused and let's meet conversation. Is it too bold now?
