I had pretty much given up on Istanbul. Language is a huge issue here, people almost don't speak English unless they have some good reason to know it.

Anyway, I decided to go drinking tonight at a local bar. Saw two girls who were playing nice music on their phone (sitting outside the bar). Decided to open 'You have a good taste in music'

Introduced myself, they were friendly and spoke English. Sat down at the table and initiated the conversation.

The girl I was interested was asking me a bunch of questions. At one point she also said that I was cute.

I thought I had the set going well, logistics was going to be an issue for sure as I am living in a hostel dorm room.

But at some point in the conversation (and this was 2 hours or so) turns out she had a boyfriend of three years. Seemed like solid and pretty serious stuff.

I had no way out of that, I kept thinking but nothing came up about how I could make this happen.

The night ended with goodbyes. Sharing here to see what the others think. Was this just casual niceness on her part or did I miss a chance?

I did try to ask them to move to another place and did ask them if they wanted to hang tomorrow but that doesn't seem likely.
