Why does my teasing come across as an insult?

Yep. Been there. I have very dry humour usually. Unless the person knows you a little better they can take what you say at face value. Here’s my tip. Try focusing a bit of it on yourself at the same time. Give them some open cheap shots at you while you are going back and forth. It will show them that you aren’t trying to devalue them as a person, but also showing them that you don’t consider yourself perfect either. We are human, we have faults.

Work on smiling cheekily as you tease. Give off the vibe of "I'm just playing." And don't solely resort to teasing when interacting with women. Be complimentary and nice.

I did this the last day. My body was a bit too tense meeting a new girl so my emotions weren’t conveyed to their full extent. What in my head was a funny tease came out as a dry statement.

If this is the case literally loosen up, stretch in front of the girl, jump up and down idk, anything to loosen up.

Teasing can be a lot more subtle than you think. Such as respond to something she says with a gentle smile, a smirk or tilting your head quizzically.

You can tease yourself in a gentle, self deprecating way.

The main thing is, your frame has to be, "She's cute. I'm happy to be with her. This is fun."

Personally, I completely eliminated sarcasm from my repertoire of thoughts and conversation. Some people appreciate it but if it's coming from an inner feeling of bitterness, it will show and it's a big turnoff.
