One of his secrets is years and years of practice.

He started out doing only night game, where according to Richard LaRuina aka Gambler, he would force IOIs by doing a silly dance move. Richard illustrates it in this video lecture he does on night game.

Reading between the lines, I suspect that after doing night game for 10 years or so, Steve was able to simplify his technique from a dance move down to just eye contact. Then translated it to day game.

To move things along and not take 10 years, I think that the key is to basically be in love with the world and in love with women in particular. If you are looking at a woman with love and benevolence and not creepy desperation, that's what women find attractive. You can't fake benevolence, you have to work on inner game until it is who you are inside.

The exact same inner game that you would bring to day game, night game, social circle game, stripper game, etc, etc, is what works everywhere.

One doesn't become a world class pole vaulter by trying to leap the highest bars and not studying any technique or practicing the basic moves at slow speed. And pole vaulters practically invented inner game by supplementing study and practice with meditation and visualization exercises.

A naturally talented person might learn that way, but the average guy who wants to get better with women tends to be socially backward. It might take years of failure and a lot of frustration and stress if his only way of learning is to cold approach beautiful women. While he's doing so he'll annoy a lot of women and give "game" a bad reputation. He might never learn how to do it well if he's prone to depression, anxiety, anger or guilt and he doesn't address it separately.

That's why the average guy should work on his inner psychology and social skills starting with learning how to be fun and friendly with his family, close friends, classmates, co-workers, waitresses, etc. and not go out trying to learn on the job by immediately approaching hot babes.

We get guys on here all the time describing cold approaches where they are yelled at and humiliated. They admit that they feel creepy, they're dying of stress and they're terrified that anyone will overhear them. Someone tells them they should work on basic social skills, get a calm inner state and learn how to be fun, friendly and calibrated ... basically "flirt" with ordinary people and develop a happy and appealing vibe ... and they come back with something like, "Duh! Why would I waste time being friendly with ordinary people it's not like I want to sleep with them."
