as someone who has depression and anxiety, i have often overanalysed myself and found it very hard to like myself as a person. everyone says that you should focus on yourself and work on yourself and eventually you’ll love yourself more, but i’ve learned to play two instruments and have been working out, and while i am proud of doing this i still dislike my personality, body and overanalyse every single thing you could think of that a person has. i always seem to be looking for the fault in myself as to why girls aren’t attracted to me, and this obviously comes from a lack of self esteem and because i put girls on a pedestal, not on equal footing as we are. because of this i always find myself feeling lonely and craving a relationship, as sad as it may sound. a common saying is that you should learn to love yourself before loving someone else, and while i’m sure this is true, my question is how do i learn to love myself. no one wants to live their lives alone and hating themselves, and while i have tried my best to make myself a better person and work on myself, i still have a hatred for myself with which i will never be able to pursue a relationship with someone who is worth it. i am still very young so i have lots of opportunity, but i cant help but feel like i’m missing out on what life should be like for someone my age. thank you in advance for all your advice
