Just spent a night out at this arcade vaguely dressed as a demon-hunter, and had a lot of fun.

One thing sticks in my mind though, there was a guy wearing a really monstrous-looking hat out in front, and to begin my night on a fun vibe I said "cool hat!" and walked up to him to start conversation with him and the group of girls he was with(didn't even see how many/how cute they were, just saw the hat and went for it before thinking).

Instead of a kind/grateful response, I actually got a challenging response: "Why? You going to slay me?"

I patted my holsters and said "Naw, I left my weapons at home. I'm sure you'd be a tough battle."

He's still challenging-toned. "what's up, bro?"

"Just hanging out after a tough week. It's good to see someone who takes the opportunity to costume too."

"This isn't a costume, I took too many gas-station erection pills and these grew out of my head."

I did not feel like having a back and forth with someone of the same gender, so I said I'll have to try those pills and went inside to continue my night.

On my drive home though, I noticed one thing. The girls who he was talking to backed away from him AS SOON as I entered the interaction. I wasn't even paying attention to them and just wanted to comment on what interested me at that time, the hat. They most likely just met him and I think they were observing to see who they should go with. They were silent throughout the entire interaction and did not laugh one bit for either of us.

Was there a correct move to get girls in a future scenario to join my party and leave the first guy's? Would it be to reduce his mental energy/train of thought to 0 and have him leave? Or just dismissed one of his challenging statements and instead talk to the girls watchin?

TLDR: What's the general strategy for guy vs guy warfare?
