I have this problem as well except the part of hitting on women. Don't, just be straight forward. You may have a akward time but you may standout as a good guy. I was straight forward and years later I am married to my amazing wife. But she is always worried about girls talking to me all the time.

Yeah, I'm a bit muscular and that poses a problem. Guys like to subtly put me down when my size/build or anything of that nature comes up.

I also wear some brands (boss/ralph lauren/rolex) and yeah guys are just more hostile and quick to put me down about anything

girl: thats a nice shirt, Ralph Lauren?

me: thanks! yeah so comfy!

Guy 'friend': Yeah but XYZ is a much better brand (or) I have no idea why someone would spend XYZ on clothes waste of money!!

its just a level of hostility, I think maybe my build intimidates them and might make them feel lesser than me? I'm big for your average Joe but I'm nothing like a steroid user. I feel a lot of guys have a threatened masculinity when it comes to body image and financial stability. I don't give a shit what people look like or wear, I however do give a shit about how I look like and what I wear. You wear expensive stuff? Cool me too! Your stuff is more expensive than mine? well if you're not financing that supreme Tee then good for you!.

Maybe treat flirting as more of a journey instead of focusing on the end goal? Like I personally love talking to people (and I have a flirty personality even though I don't try to) and getting to know them and have a good convo. For me personally setting up small goals, like I wanna have a deeper conversation with someone, is less daunting than thinking that i immediately want them to be my bf/gf. And even if it doesn't work out you still had a fun conversation, or maybe even made another friend! I like to approach conversations when I am trying to flirt with the mindset of , 'I would love to have a romantic/sexual relationship with this person, or make a new friend, but rn I want to live in the moment and enjoy this person's presence, whether I eventually sleep with them or not'. Idk if this made much sense, but I hope it did. (I'm a Bi, 18 F if that helps with context lol)

Once upon a time, I had your problem.

I've always enjoyed spending time with women more than men, for various reasons. I've noticed some general commonalities among men who share this trait - we're probably similar in some fundamental ways.

With that in mind, from experience:

You probably have the wrong guy friends -- I've found that the guys I typically enjoy keeping as friends and spending time with regularly are generally outliers.

And yeah, it's naturally more difficult to find 'outlier' friends who you'll actually enjoy, but you're a unique guy. Work with it. Appreciate NOT being average. It's a gift. Often a gift in disguise, but a gift nonetheless.

As for Women -- Some often misconstrued advice:

"Treat all women the same."

What does this mean?

Most guys have a habit of treating the women they do like drastically different from the women they don't like - and in ways that screw their chances.

Note that I'm referring to women you're attracted to vs. women you're just friends with.

I'm talking about:

trying too hard
attention and approval seeking behavior
aiming to get her to like you Instead of acting 'normal'
etc.

It's natural to do this -- but it's detrimental to your outcomes. Now that you're aware of it, try to observe it in your own behavior, and start going against what you naturally feel inclined to do.

If you start treating the women you like the same way you treat the women you don't like, you'll probably start getting some better results right away.

Note that in your case, you also seem to be treating yourself differently when you talk to women you like vs. women you are friends with.

You talk to your female friends and you're fine. You talk to female strangers you're attracted to, and your self-opinion is suddenly that you're a pathetic loser who just wants sex.

Do you see why this is causing problems for you?
