It's said that playing with hair is a sign of interest among women and girls. How true is this based on your experience?

Depends. If they blush and play With their hair or they’re smiling and look like they’re interested then true, if you’re talking to a girl and she doesn’t seem interested and pulls out a comb to fix her hair, or fixes it with her hand, she’s probably not interested. Sometimes yes.

But also true about playing with hair...

Sometimes she'll do it when it has nothing to do with you or any other man in the room.
Sometimes she may do it just to flirt and watch guys come unglued, even if she has no romantic interest in him (just because it feels good to know you can affect another human through flirting - goes for girls and guys both).
One youtuber was recently explaining that she moves her hair with her hand a lot on camera simply because her hair is so thick that her neck feels hot underneath it.

But if it is just you and her, say, on a date...totally focused on each other and mutually enjoying the date...and she starts to play with her hair...and has maybe moved closer to you over the course of the evening...and starts to bump into with her knee or something, you should go for the kiss.

If I'm into a guy, I willy twist my hair, or kinda run my fingers through it while making eye contact or talking. Also I'll smile at him - that is an IOI. Me sitting there flipping my hair out of my face because the wind is blowing, or putting it in a ponytail because it is in my face, or untangling it because it is knotted - is NOT an IOI. That should be common sense!
