Do you feel the urgency to date because of your ex’s life? Its easy for me to sit behind a screen and give advice, but I believe working on yourself now until theres a clean break will provide the greatest benefits later. Use any pain as a motivator to discipline yourself. Shit will be hard until August, but if you stick with it you’ll be in a great place.

Yes, I do in fact. The first guy that she hooked up with was really good looking. Definitely lit a spark under my ass to better myself and get back out there. I’ve lost 60 pounds since January and have been listening the “How to talk to girls” podcast everyday. Seeing a therapist too helps.

That’s awesome man, good for you to use it in a positive way!! Maybe check out some podcast that talk about your passions/hobbies. You don’t even realize it, but you’re heading in the right direction.

Thanks!!! I feel like I’m making a ton of progress (not just body but mind) but I still feel like I’m behind because the ex is getting a lot of interest (she checked out years ago and created her exit plan). I guess I shouldn’t look at it as a competition but it’s tough sometimes!

Hey, good for her. But as long as YOU are progressing, you are winning. We all have our own race to run. Try to be careful about negativity towards her because that only hurts you in the long run. Forgiving her and wishing her the best will be the hardest thing you do, but it will free you I promise. One day at a time brother.

Thanks. I have no desire to reconcile but it’s hard to think about your partner of 10 years, who you thought you’d be with forever, dating. But if I can get through this lockdown and seeing her date, I think it will go a long way in not being so jealous or clingy in future relationships!!

I couldnt imagine man. I give you the upmost respect for how you’re trying to handle it. Good times are ahead, hang in there.

Yes, it’s a bad time to date. I agree that you should continue to work on yourself until your divorce is final and you have moved out.

Lol. I guess my real question is if this is a good time to practice anything to prepare to date?

Yes, it's a bad time to date.
Move out and finalize the divorce. This should have been done yesterday
I expect this question to come from a 20 year old, not someone that's 37.
