I often see RP guys talking about this statement: "The female, not the male, determines all the conditions of the animal family. Where the female can derive no benefit from association with the male, no such association takes place."

It implies the idea that only women enter relationships from which they benefit, but not men. How does that make sense?

Any guy who has something to offer, something attractive about him, has the ability to set standards of conduct for his woman. Why does this often quoted law imply that women are the only ones with power, and that they're the only ones who set standards?

Am I misinterpreting the law?
