Reply to her instagram story. If she's doing something there, a fun, laid back response can be a good opening for a conversation rather than a cold DM.

I don’t think cold DMs are good at all (I am a girl, for reference). I’ve been dm’d by random guys saying thirsty shit and it is an instant turn off and i dont find a reply necessary. Idc how attractive the guy is, it makes him less hot. Lead with something funny, reply to a post, say something cute and genuine! That’s what girls want.

You are way better off replying to her instagram story and starting a legitimate conversation that way. A girl wants to have conversation - not just get a message that says “hey gorgeous i think you’re really pretty can i get your snap?”

I also want to point out what’s wrong with that kind of message: 1. why should i give you my snapchat? You’ve made no effort to get to know me and i know nothing about you. 2. this kind of message shows that you are thirsty and desperate and don’t care about having a convo with me.

Generally no. Even if you’re good looking, it comes off as thirsty and at that point you may as well be covered in fecal matter cologne.

I’m not trying to sound like a douche bag but I think I’m a pretty good looking guy and have the results to support it — but I’m terrible at a lot of things. I would not message a girl out of the blue without some sort of set up. For example, if you want to message some girl on Facebook, built some rapport with her via likes and comments before you shoot your shot.

I had a crush on this girl throughout all of high school but we really never talked. She was more of the hot popular girl and I was more of the strong silent type. But afterwards, I’d run into her rather frequently an bars and stuff. We were friends on Facebook and would go back and forth with comments and likes until one day I half-drunkenly asked her to hang out. We had a good time, although I realized she’s super bipolar. But I would have never asked her out just randomly.

You're instantly telling her that you're desperate, doesn't matter what you say.

Only way it would work is if she already thinks really highly of you and thus doesn't care if you DM her some thirsty shit.

M 19...if that matters here Depending on your intentions, or if you come off a bit strong it could be considered creepy or uncomfortable. In my experience just keep it in an Icebreaker format or if it has other things to it, try to keep it chill; without spamming a number of replies at a time. Take the ol’: “wait a moment and then breathe out before responding” into consideration. Hope this makes sense.

No. As a female, I dislike that males "slide into my DMs" frequently and block them.
