Gym is a place you go almost every day. Your reputation matter since you will be seeing other members regularly. In other words, never, ever creep out people here.
Because the gym is a set-up game location, none of your approaches are cold approaches. You already have exposure effect.
For the above reasons, the gym is an ideal social circle game location. Instead of approaching and hitting on girls at the gym, just start saying hi and smalltalking with them. Build comfort and friendzone them, especially since you're inexperienced and insecure. Having a few female friends will help you become comfortable around women in general.

If you're confused about how to treat a female friend, it's no different than a guy friend.

Set up events / get togethers and invite your female friends, tell them to bring their friends.
Tell your female friends/confidants that you like their friend and they will help you hook up with her.

Just be real and honest about who you are, and where you are in your sex life with them, some might even pity fuck your virginity away and you might get some chill FWBs out of it.

DO. NOT. HIT. ON. WOMEN. AT. THE. GYM. The gym is not a bar... people want to get their sweat on and get out... WOmen in fact HATE being hit on at the gym... they do not look their best and are generally not into it. DO you want to be trying to take a ride on the incline bench while someone makes inane conversation with you? C'mon man wise the fuck up.

I was wondering why do people have to lessen the other person's comments can't you be yourself a woman or a man should show Their true selves do not use other person's advice because that is not the real you you can use other persons is vice to help you what do not do what other people want be yourself and only yourself because eventually they will find out who you really are
