Hey all! So my life has taken an interesting turn, was offered a PhD spot despite not applying and so I previously had no plans of doing one this year but rather just working and enjoying life post-Masters. Now, given the job market is bleak, I've taken the offer.

My concern is, PhD coursework (prior to thesis) is SO dense and I know even with the Masters I was swamped. With being swamped comes little time to work on yourself through various hobbies, enjoying life, deepening relationships, reading books, etc. So, I'm looking for tips from any of you folks doing a PhD or maybe an MD on how you balance working on your purpose (i.e. smashing your comprehensive exams and thesis work) and also improving yourself?
