I think smiling is super attractive, like butterflies in my stomach attractive. People that remain expressionless are less engaging and I'd probably just assume they're not interested.

Makes sense. A good smile signals: "hey there I'm a not a threat I'm happy and I am interested in talking to you". What could be more attractive than that ?

I personally love it when girls smile but on the other hand one of my brother told me that he prefers more serious type girls. So yeah its subjective.

Smiling is super important especially in man to woman connections. It's the clearest non-verbal sign of approval which indicates the interaction is going well and you're enjoying it.

I think your actions attract the type of person you want to subconsciously be with. Like I'm a smiley person but I'm not always smiling. (Who is?) And when I'm not smiling I can seem unapproachable. Some have even said I have a RBF. Its all subjective. We all have our preferences.

If you see a man you feel is attractive you should flirt to see if he has interest. For me flirting is what you do before meeting someone. It is an unspoken way to determine interest.

I am a man, but I know how to flirt with women. This is what I see as the best way for a woman to flirt. Maybe you could tell me how you flirt?

#1 Eye contact. It is hard to describe exactly how much, other than to say it is longer than an uninterested glance. It is somewhat a learned skill based on a woman's own personality and how she presents herself.

#2 Smiling. Strong eye contact with a smile, is an invitation to the man to approach.

#3 Preening. Touching your hair. Which as a woman you may do unconsciously, tilting your head exposing your neck. Touching your lips.

#4 Body language. This is largely involuntary. It is based on the woman's own self-image. Meaning she is self-aware (emotionally mature). I am good at reading people's body language and I can tell if a woman is confident in herself.

The above is a basic list. But I can say not smiling and being serious is like folding your arms in front of you, it is a sign to stay away.

So what is the man supposed to do?

When I see a woman flirting with me, I flirt back and if she reciprocates, I approach and introduce myself. Then we talk. I would like to say that there is usually a timeline to the sequence of events. Meaning if there is mutual interest, the man (or women possibly) should approach and have a conversation in a short span of time. Do not wait. Men do not approach women head on, this is much to aggressive. Approach off center to the side and slowly.

I think when I flirt I smirk more than smile. It's called the George Clooney technique, just kidding. I usually smile in conversation, but not flirting. I have a powerful smirk.

Smiling only works if you have good looks to start with. Most women would label a smiling ugly guy as being creepy.
