Dude this is not about fear. I'm not worried for myself. I take precautions because I don't want to be responsible for transmitting a deadly virus to someone else.

People in my family have risk factors like asthma. Some people have compromised immune systems. Any older person is at high risk. It's everyone else that I'm concerned about. A lot of people are missing family members who would be alive today if we all took this seriously.

Pull your head out of your ass. Not everything is about you.

This is an interesting idea that I have mixed thoughts about.

I agree that being overly fearful is a sign of low confidence, but reasonable people can disagree about what is overly fearful versus appropriately cautious given your unique risk profile and circumstances.

Also disagree with the idea that not calling out obvious contradictory or foolish thinking exposes lack of confidence. The most confident and successful people I know don’t go around berating minimum wagers about the stores mask policy. They also don’t go around sharing a lot of their thoughts about who is president, what direction the country is heading, or basically anything that isn’t directly related to achieving their goals and contributing to their happiness. Instead of informing other people of how wrong they are, they are busy getting jacked, stacking cash and living large.

Some of the more Machiavellian ones profit on the fears of others. Think selling masks and vitamins to the fearful instead of enlightening the normies.

People who go about pontificating about Covid or politics are usually losers and best avoided, unless you are doing market research on what they are willing to buy from you or you are trying to get into some political junkies pants.
