I see this mistake so often I just had to make a post. It only takes women about 1-3 seconds to evaluate your profile before swiping left. They will usually just look at your first and second photo. If they're interested they might spend a little longer, see more pictures, and read your bio, but those first 1-3 seconds get most guys excluded instantly.

Here's where the assumption rule comes into play. The assumption rule is:

Women will make a negative assumption about you if they can

And the reason is that they can get matches so easily that they can get extremely superficial and picky and they almost have to exclude guys in seconds to be able to be effective on the app.

Here's how this might play out on dating apps:

  1. You have a picture with a child but it's not your kid? Too late: You are a dad.

  2. You have a picture with another woman? That's either your ex, or your current girlfriend. Either way, big red flag.

  3. You have pictures with alcohol? You're an alcoholic

  4. You have a selfie flexing your muscles in the mirror? You have narcissistic personality disorder.

  5. You have a hat on? You're bald and insecure about it.

  6. You're with your friend in the photo? You're the uglier one of the two.

I could go on. The point is: Don't give women any low hanging fruit to make a negative assumption about you based on your first images. IF you need to explain your pictures in your bio - you're doing it wrong! The first two-three images should be SAFE. Don't give women an easy way to make a negative assumption about you.
