My divorce is nearly over. I have been living with my new partner for 2.5 years. She has 2 daughters and we live with her parents.

She is still on good terms with her ex for coparenting and I'm happy for her. I've met him. Her mother is very controlling and interfering. Slept with my partner's ex not ling after my partner got married.

It's very hard because her parents have taken a dim view of me. I found out that last night they ran me down to the ex when he visited. My partner then went out for hot chocolate with him to discuss the kids on a Saturday night (U was returning from seeing my own son for his birthday). I stupidly made a comment under my breath when I got home about being a bit uncomfortable with it. I've told my partner before. It blew up with her mother yelling at me again and when I tried to explain she called me a liar.

The week before she gave me an ultimatum to get out within the month. My partner has been very unwell mentally with intrusive thoughts and not sleeping for almost 3 weeks. She went downhill so fast. Her mum even suggested she had to sleep in separate beds for a change in her environment etc.

My partner explained that she was talking to her ex because he is like a best friend, can read people and offers sensible advice. They have 20+ years behind them. She was mad at the whole scene that was created. Wouldn't talk to me, said she was unhappy and wanted to be on her own. I got triggered and had a sleepless night whilst she dozed on and off.

We spoke today and she said that she was talking with her ex about me and that they both agreed there was something wrong with me with PTSD or ADHD (I left an extremely abusive marriage and lost my home, have divorce debt etc). Insisted I needed help and that she also spoke with her ex and they think she should slow things down with me.

I feel betrayed by her and her parents. I'm thinking twice about everything. I'm also going to get counselling to cope with my past.

Should I be trying to walk away?
