Any one ever use business cards?

I did this once when the girl was working and I didn’t want to force her into a weird situation where she felt like she couldn’t deny me because she had to be polite. I just handed her my card, told her she was cute and said call me if you’d like. She did and we went on a date.

Typically, giving out your number is not as effective as getting her number. When you ask and receive her number, it's a sign of her interest (attraction) and investment in you.

I agree with the other posters generally, but I once picked up a girl at a bar and took her back to my place. Afterwards she didn't want to leave her number, so I gave her my business card. Being able to do that was less needy than writing it out for her.

While she was still waiting for the taxi, she called and booked herself in for a replay later that week, which continued over the following month or so till she found someone who wanted to be exclusive with her. So that's a plus for business cards if you legitimately have them anyway. It may make a difference what you actually write, though - I'm CEO of my (very small) company.

There's really never going to be situations where you're able to hand someone a business card but can't spend the extra 10 seconds just asking for their number.

This is also a very beta thing to do...you hit it off with this girl, why not be a man and ask for her number instead of weirdly handing her a card without saying anything.

You're also putting the ball in the girls court where she's forced to text you and lead the interaction going forward. Generally it's better to get a girls number so you can lead the interaction.

And also as other's have said, most people take business cards and never end up calling. And you also run the risk of someone thinking you're just looking for business.

In your example, the girl is a cousin of someone at a wedding. She's not that special or that busy. You can just track her down and interrupt her real quick and ask for her number. You don't need to hand her a business card. If she's truly into you and enjoyed your interaction earlier and wants to go on a date, she'll be excited to see you again and willingly give you her number. Just be normal you don't need to think of these crazy extravagant scenarios that never actually happen in real life.

Business cards are famous because even if everyone takes them when you give it to them, 99.99% of people never end up calling. If you want a girl to actually be excited enough to hear from you, or see you again, you need to leave a lasting impression. And if you don’t have the time (5-10 mins) to leave a lasting impression, then consider the effort pointless and a waste of money that the cards costed you.

Full transparency, I’ve never tried it. My initial thought is if I give a girl my number in that capacity, I want her to know it’s personal, not business.
