Everyone talks about becoming the best version of yourself. Pause and think.
How about you try becoming the most efficient of yourself?
Becoming efficient will get you better results and you will consequentially become the best version of yourself – in all areas of life, at once. You don’t have to focus on one area of life while ignoring all else and lead a mediocre life.
It is definitely possible to have it all in life. It takes 10x more energy, sure. But it is worth it.
Firstly, you have to have a schedule. FOR EVERYTHING.
Planning out your entire day and week in advance will make you a better performer than anything else. Make a list of the top 10 things that you would want to achieve in the week and break them down and incorporate them into your day/days.
Your ideal routine, when you are young should mostly include work, business, gym and hobbies during the weekend. If you structure your schedule well, outsource bullshit tasks and if you are willing to spend some money, you will have so much free time and you will be a lot more productive than your current self.
How to maximize efficiency in all areas of life:
- Money:
- Career: Getting a performance based career is the key here. Choose careers where gaining some experience will help you start your own business. If you hit your quotas, nobody basically gives a shit about what you do. This has been covered plenty of times here.
- Side hustles: A detailed guide on what side hustle to start will be published soon. A quick note on importance of side hustles: https://fitnessandfinancesfirst.com/2024/04/25/if-you-fail-to-act-immediately-you-will-be-left-behind-forever/
- Bonus: Do you know that you can use and abuse your credit cards to earn money and you can travel the world for free of cost? You can use your credit cards to fund your business purchases and get 2% – 3% cash back. A person I know uses multiple cards for his amazon and construction business. His advice was to start slow and pay back the card in full each month. Everything is a tool if used responsibly. Ignore the personal finance bros that tell you to only use a debit card. They’ll never make it and neither will you. We will be exclusively making a post on abusing credit cards, with advice from an industry expert really soon.
- Residence (as close as possible to everything): When you are starting out in life, your time is extremely important and you don’t want to spend two hours travelling to your office every single day. 2 hours * 5 days * 50 weeks = 500 hours. You are wasting 500 hours on commute. Assuming your hourly rate is $20, you are losing $10,000 on commute alone. You should be able to get from your apartment to a nice restaurant, your office, and the gym in less than 15 minutes. The premium cost is totally worth it and you’ll never regret it. Once you become wealthy and successful, you can live in a suburb an hour away from the city since you can afford to waste time.
- Consider paying money to save time + bonus tips: When you are living an intense life, you don’t want to waste time doing your laundry or doing bullshit tasks. You are better off outsourcing them and thus, saving time. You can use services like laundry, Virtual assistants, AI bots and finally, ChatGPT pro. The amount of time I’m able to save on my job because of ChatGPT pro is unreal. I probably work 40% less and I’m able to convince my employer that I’m more productive. For meal prep, consider eating the exact same meals on a daily basis. You can eat out 1-2x a week. Rice, beef, yoghurt, banana and potatoes are more than enough to have excellent health and build muscle. You will probably spend less than an hour preparing food for the entire week and you will save money as well since you are purchasing everything on bulk. If you are charming enough, consider becoming friends with a woman just to cook you meals. I did that when I was with my previous employer and it saved me so much time and she cooked delicious food. Bonus points if she finds you attractive. Just give her enough attention to keep her hooked, have sex and flirt sparingly. She will cook your meals per your macros and you will find it easier to build muscle. Not legal advice.
- Fitness and health: You can refer this article which will tell you on how to get fit when you lead a very busy life:- https://fitnessandfinancesfirst.com/2024/04/20/how-to-stay-fit-when-you-lead-a-busy-life/ Bonus: You can call your family while you are walking around the office. This way, you will achieve two things: Fitness and connection with your family.
- Dating and getting laid: Unless you something is very wrong with your body, you will want to have sex with hot women. However, as a man, you should never, ever focus on getting laid at all. Truth be told, you should lead a life so awesome that you barely think about sex at all. You will ideally build a large social circle. If you have free time to relax, consider going out and talking to everyone you see. Especially attractive, fit men and hot women. The men are likely to become good acquaintances and the women are likely to fuck you. If you want to get laid immediately, consider following every chick on Instagram with whom you have mutuals. To make it easier, follow chicks who have a higher following than followers since it means she will follow you as well. Your profile picture must be a shirtless picture with your abs and your bio can be whatever you want. It is the picture that matters the most. Once you do the above, consider posting the following pics weekly:
- Shirtless gym pics
- A picture of food in a nice restaurant
- Something related to your hobby/hobbies. If you are into cars, post pictures of the car club that you are a part of. If you like hiking, post pictures of you with your dog on a hike and so on. Feel free to post pictures other than this. But, if you are trying to smash, focus on these. Women will pay attention to you when you post a shirtless gym pic, become interested when you post multiple other pictures and eventually, some will start “liking” your stories. That is when you reciprocate and seal the deal. This way, you will show women that you are not a boring idiot but a man with a “personality”. You are living an awesome life and at the same time, you are also getting women. Win-win, I’d say. From here onwards, you only text them if you want to sleep with them. No dates, no eating together, etc. You meet, fuck and you go about your day. You shouldn’t be going out more than 2x a week. Let us be real, women are a massive, massive waste of your time, energy and money. You are not going to become successful by listening to a bimbo tell you about her fight with her “bestie” or by listening to her yap about the latest pop culture drama. You go out for an hour and you smash for an hour. That is it. 4 hours a week and your sex life is sorted.
- Friendships: When you are levelling yourself up, your social circle will change. Your old loser friends will complain about you not hanging out with them and nag you constantly. You eventually cut them out since they don’t contribute anything positive to your life. Now, you can go and meet your friends once every month. This gives the both of you enough time to live life and talk about it while you are together. You should absolutely avoid losers, whiners and time wasters. Be ruthless with your time and energy.
- Family: Let us be real. Family is everything after a point. Once you get past 30 and something like $5 million, an extra million won’t make a big difference but having a family, even a small one, could make you infinitely happier. If you are lucky enough to have a supportive family, you should absolutely talk to them. At least for 10 minutes every day. Call up your dad, your mom, your grandmom or that uncle you have not seen for a long time and talk to them. 10 minutes per day is more than enough. You can call them when you are free – in your W2. Call them while you are walking around the office to get your steps in and if possible, talk to them longer.
- Hobbies – every weekend, make time, don’t waste your life: So many dorks act like having hobbies is a bad thing and “gay”. “I’m HustLinG 24/8 BrOO.” Cool. The guy who is running laps around you has time for his 3 hobbies and excels in career and business as well. To live a complete life, you have to have hobbies. Period. It could be anything. Piano, BJJ, motorcycles, cars, flying or whatever. It should make you feel alive and it should not make you unhealthy/unfit. You should ideally focus on your hobbies every weekend, preferably early in the morning since you will have some time to work in the evenings as well. In my case, I go for a hike every Saturday morning and I go for a ride or drive every Sunday morning. Whatever works for you.
- Incorporating all this into a week A sample week, if you are being hyper-efficient might look something like the image given on the website.
Bonus:
Your employer, no matter how hard they try to convince you that “We’re all a family here”, is not your friend. You are just a line item in the P&L and act accordingly. You are there to do your job and collect your paycheck.
Abuse your employer to the maximum. Read something useful when you are not working and act busy. Work on your side hustle if you are not busy. Learn how to delegate tasks to your subordinates and you will be seen as a good leader. You don’t transfer all your responsibilities, though.
Just transfer the menial bullshit tasks that you hate doing/that don’t actually add any value.
Build enough political capital to get promotions just as quickly as the guy who is killing himself for the company. You have to be liked by your superiors to get ahead in the corporate world. If you are well liked + if you do the bare minimum, you will get ahead.
Things to avoid:
Avoid all drugs, alcohol, bad food and bad friends. They will waste your time and energy – two of the most valuable things in life that money cannot buy.
Avoid wasting your life watching netflix or porn. Your time on this Earth is limited and you have to use every single second well.
You will focus on becoming hyper efficient for 3-5 years of your life. Once past that, you are likely to be financially set and you can do whatever you want with your time.
