This is really the tip of the iceberg, on most days, if you open https://abc.net.au, it features mostly pictures of women, particularly in health and lifestyle sections. If the news is good, female politicians are favoured against men, if the news is bad a picture of a man is shown.

This article, reproduced from the New York Post, is fairly balanced. But the Australian media only shows images of women with cancer in its publication. While the message for men and women about health and cancer risk is important, it is presented in a gynocentric package, unconsciously encouraging female engagement, while repelling male engagement.

This casual misandry in the Australian media is so entrenched, so widespread, so unquestioned, it is frightening. And then they say men don't seek out health information or care when needed. It seems men are being excluded from health messaging in the media.

I have a family member that works for the news. She says their primary demographic is middle aged women so of course they will pander to their primary demographic.
