Some progress

As a result of a false allegation, an innocent man spent a month in jail despite the fact police acknowledged her story didn’t add up and despite the fact video surveillance proved he was innocent. It’s inexcusable this innocent man spent a single night behind bars let alone a month.

Personally, I don’t see that as progress.

I’ll see it as progress when we stop assuming men are guilty based on false allegations by women and instead assume innocence until actual evidence proves otherwise. A false accusation is not evidence of guilt and shouldn’t be treated as such, especially in light of actual evidence to the contrary.

She had to just say the words and everyone believed her
He had to move the heaven & earth for anyone to believe him

Until we change “Women are innocent even if proven guilty & Men are guilty until proven innocent” we cannot have any progress.
