Put yourself in the position of a woman.

What’s the first thing a woman thinks when a heterosexual man instead of a woman approaches them and starts talking to them?

That he is hitting on her/he wants sex.

So she is defensive, specially if the guy does not disclose that, because she knows that men always hide behind a facade pretending to care about shit they don’t give a fuck about only to come up later with their true intentions about being sexually interested in them after they got tired of wearing the initial mask to disguises their intentions.

If a woman or a gay dude approached the girl, they would quickly break the ice like it’s nothing because they will quickly realise they are not there for sex or to hit on them, so their defences relax and they can talk about make up, clothes, shoes… etc

And yes, the “gay dude” will not be perceived as having ulterior sexual motives because his expressive voice, his delicate demeanour, his feminine gestures and his genuine enthusiasm about “feminine” things is real enough.

So how to break the ice?

The way to break the ice with women is to be upfront about your intentions from the very first sentence. This means telling her that you are there because you like something about her, “that you find her cute, or attractive for x reason, and that you would regret if you didn’t try to get to know her quickly, which is why you’d like to introduce yourself if that’s cool with her.

This shows that you have confidence and also relaxes them in a way because they see that you are honest and aren’t using a facade. They may, or may not, be interested in getting to know you, but at least you asked them if it’s cool with them to get to know each other for a little bit which is respectful and gives them the chance to consent.

When you approach indirectly, a woman often becomes defensive, always anticipating the moment when your facade will finally crumble.

This frustrates her because she senses the underlying dishonesty and expects it to be exposed sooner or later. When the truth finally emerges, she feels disappointed despite her already low expectations.

She had a feeling all along that this moment would come, but she still held out some hope that you would prove her wrong.

If you want to connect with women, understand they respond to good emotions. Logically boring guy talk is going to make you like 99% of the other guys. Instead, try to have fun, say things that are out of the normal context, make fun of things, etc...

As for topics, dating and relationships are usually good ones. Or find something she is into and talk about that.

With girls you should rather keep it very simple and touch some "down-to-earth" topics. Don't get into constructive informational discussions, but rather figure out some sharp exchange, asking for opinion, triggering emotions and having fun with the conversation. Find some connection between you, so you can share mutual emotions.

The one thing all moderately attractive to super hot women have in common is how men approach them. Which is usually one of two ways. Either:

“OMG, you are the hottest woman I’ve seen, I’m honored just to be in your presence and I would do anything to be with you. I would honestly eat 10 ft of your shit just to see the hole it came out of!”

Which of course is a total turn off since no woman wants a man who will bend himself and denigrate himself for her. Plus she’s heard it all before except maybe that last part. And then you have your other typical guy who says something like:

“OMG, I’m the coolest most famous most successful guy you’ve ever met. I have people following me around, I’m kind of famous and do really cool stuff. And, oh my! Your eyes are the exact same color as my new Porsche!!!!”

So if you talk to women about how men approach them( you will always have something they could relate to.
