Stereotype - men should never hit women because women are so much smaller and weaker. Well, weaker? Yes, but probably not as much weaker as most people think. I used to know two women who were stronger than me, and I'm in good shape.

But it's the "smaller" part I want to talk about here. I just read in the article below that the Average American woman weighs 170 pounds. That's about 5 - 10 pounds bigger than me. Yeah, I know, women have less muscle mass per pound and so on, we all know those facts, so don't hit us over the head with them below. Fact still is, women are nowhere near as small as stereotypes say. And thus not as fragile as the stereotypes say either. Kinda explains why 35% of domestically abused men suffer serious injuries. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2913504/?ref=quillette

"Almost 80% of men participants [these were men who complained of being abused] reported that they were injured by their women partners, with 77.5% stating they sustained a minor injury and 35.1% sustaining a severe injury in the previous year.")

What Is the Average Weight for Women? (aol.com)

EDIT: From a post under that article (I do not know if this is true, but if it is, it's interesting). "For those going after American women for their average weight: A bit of Googling shows that the average American male stands 5'9" and weight 197.9 pounds. Interestingly enough, that calculates to the same BMI as the average American woman at 5'4" and 170 pounds - 29.2. That's only .8 away from being obese."
