Singapore does not recognise common law/de facto marriages. Such spouses will only be issued with a long-term visit pass by the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority upon arrival in Singapore.

Just don't get married in Singapore.

Women are better behaved without the security of marriage.

Umm... it sounds like that the husband made out like a bandit compared to USA. $3.2 million in matrimonial assets and the husband got $2.99 million. On appeal, the wife got a little bit more leaving the husband with about $2.75 million.

In USA there is a good chance that this would have been split in half. to each party.

Wow, it seems 50-50 asset division on divorce doesn't exist in Singapore? At least for childless marriages? This is a very positive thing. Let's talk truthfully here, it is a huge win for the man in the case. Sure it doesn't make sense to take into account 'indirect contributions' and even then they unfairly attributed more to the woman than the man even when they said their indirect contributions were equal. But in the bigger picture the man gets to keep 90% of his money which is way better than one would get in any western court. The 90% is calculated by his direct contributions S$2.99M and his takeaway S$2.7M. And they didn't even need a prenup for it is built-in within the divorce court for them to move away from default half half. If more marriages worked this way, men would definitely be much more likely to get married have kids and encourage families.
