This is a relationship concept I haven't seen talked about a lot on here which is surprising seeing as how this sub loves to deconstruct and critique relationship ideas.

So the "one that got away" is basically a boy who breaks up with a girl or she breaks up with him for a bad reason and this boy is in retrospect seen by the girl as the best man she ever dated and the man she wishes she stayed with longer or even married. (I know you could reverse the genders here but the term "one that got away" is generally used by girls in context to men)

Also I like post that are broadly applicable and can say a lot. So make the post more accessible to people who don't have a one that got away.
