Ladies Advice, more like ladies supremacy at the expense of men. People just love to act like men just sit around and do nothing and it’s women who do most of the stuff when in reality it’s the opposite.

Why do they call it “work” for men and “9-5 job” for women? Surely they refer to the same thing? Also, I know not all work is 9-5, but it’s weird because men are more likely to work a 9-5 than women are…

Also this implies that women don’t eat, sleep, have sex or pay half the bills…

There are also men who do laundry, cook, clean, take care of their wives etc… as for “being a therapist for everyone” I don’t understand- surely in any healthy loving relationships (romantic or otherwise) people are welcome to come to you with their problems and vent- if you see the mere action of listening as “being a therapist to everyone” that’s a you problem.

The "double working woman" is one of the longest standing myths. I think one of the reasons it's so slow to die is that women notice that they're doing more unpaid work at home (aka chores) than men, but systematically FAIL to notice that they also put in less hours of paid work per year than men do.

It becomes "we both work, and in ADDITION I do the lions share at home!!!" -- and then they fail to notice, or "forgets" that even though it's true that they both work, it's also true that he works substantially more hours per year than she does.

Table 1 has the info we seek, and it says among other things that:

The average man does 4.17hr of paid work per day while the average woman does 2.98 (thus the men do 1.19 more)
The average woman does 2.32hr of household activities, while the average man does 1.49 (thus the women do 1.17 more)

It does show men spend more time than women on "Leisure and sports" -- but on the flip side women spend more time on socializing and communicating, on telephone calls mail and email and on organizational and religious activities.

Overall I'd argue it comes out more or less equal.

Men also work more hours than women on average (which partially explains the “wage gap”) I don’t have stats handy but I know many men who work jobs where they frequently have be 12-16 hour shifts…work strange or overnight hours…go in on weekends…a “9-5” job where they would be able to take the kids to school and be home to prepare dinner would be a dream…often you see couples where the man had such a job and his wife works a regular 8 hour shift and yes maybe she picks up the kids from school or does more domestic work but I venture to guess many men would take that trade off if it was an option for them.
