Just came in contact with one friend I lost.

Ben was my best friend freshman year of college (now junior year), but last year things got rocky because another friend, Jake, who we met later on started getting jealous of the time I was spending with work friends and doing my own thing. It got pretty homoerotic, they would band together to ignore me if I hung out with other people or if I declined hanging out to work on something Jake would send me pics of them doing sht. Realized how cancerous this was and cut contact with Jake, but wanted to still be friends with Ben.

Unfortunately, Ben and Jake hung out all the time so even though Ben took a stance of being "neutral" in the whole thing it was obvious Jake was a big influence. Ben started ignoring my calls but would talk to me if we ran into each other in person.

Today I ran into Ben on campus and tried to shoot the shit since I haven't seen him all summer but it was pretty one-sided, me asking questions and him answering but saying nothing more. Realized that friendship was over.

I've made a lot of other friends through getting out of my comfort zone but it sucks that I had to lose a good friend not even directly of my doing. But it happens on this journey and I'm sure it may happen again in the future.

Any of you guys have stories to share?
