As a seduction coach, I can tell you that the reason it would be weird is not because of the approach itself but your inner mindset.

Because you believe you could be perceived as predatory, your behavior if you would have tried would have been negative, and weird. You would have been nervous, you would have been trying to make it look like you are not nervous without much success, you would feel kinda anxious, and she will see all those symptoms in your approach, which would make her feel unsettled and wary about you.

She would struggle to understand why you are so nervous and acting like that, which would make her think of the worst, you would be projecting your own anxiety onto her effectively transferring your emotional state to her because emotions are contagious. This would make her anxious and thus cause her to perceive you as weird and maybe even creepy.

You would therefore then conclude that you were right about the act being weird, but in reality it was you that caused the situation to be unnecessarily weird.

If you would have just assumed that it’s the most normal thing in the world to be social and cheerful with people, if you had the absolute conviction that it was perfectly fine to approach her, you would not have been acting nervous, you would not have transfer your nerves and anxiety onto her and instead she would have reacted positively.

So your thoughts and predictions created a self-fulfilling prophecy. You simply would have been the one to sabotage yourself due to your own lack of conviction at what you were doing was right. Let alone if she had said anything about whether this is weird which would have caught you off guard and cause you to be more apologetic and nervous leading to even worst outcome.

This is why absolute conviction in yourself, your actions, absolute confidence in who you are, what you do and what you say and how you look is super essential before you talk to women. Because if you dont have confidence then you simply cannot be your best version of yourself and will self-sabotage situations that could have ended very well for you.

You could always go back and approach her.

If she shows any slight concern that only both of you are in the laundry room, ask her to talk to you outside where people can see. Most laundry rooms in an apartment building is always located next to an exit door, anyway. You can even use that as your opener “hey i wanna talk to you but I don’t want you to feel unsafe. Let’s talk outside so people can see us.” That would give her reassurance that you’re harmless. If your escalation is working well you can always go back to the laundry room with her.

Err on the side of honesty. I’ve done this before: “Hey, usually I would totally walk up to you in public, but, shit, this a laundry room. And I don’t want to be trapped in here with a potential weirdo” (turn it around on her and be funny cocky and call out the obvious) she’ll get the joke and appreciate the thoughtful approach

Mark Manson says to just be honest. You can also be honest and funny and point out something that could be creepy and make it funny

Would have been just fine. Not weird at all. Would have been better if you walked in to also do laundry. Then you could have introduced yourself, said what floor you are on etc.

Nothing wrong with building it up slowly. Then next time you see her you can expand the conversation.

This sub wants you to get laid that night.. I personally enjoy a slow roll.
