I've been pondering the question about Hollywood, franchises bastardized into woke-fests etc. but primarily I've been thinking about upset male fans, and why it may in fact be a topic for MRA.

I think it's not just hurt nostalgia and seeing something you loved be completely ruined. I think for many young men Star Wars etc. may have represented the link and feeling of connection with the larger culture itself. I believe they thus felt very abandoned and turned invisible. You have the realisation that the collective you felt were there for you didn't in fact exist, and if it did exist, you're either not welcome or considered.

I just want to send a message to those men that it's all false. Despite what you felt then, you shouldn't have clung to this, or identified yourself with it. Enjoy it sure, if you can, but we shouldn't subordinate ourselves to the larger culture anyway, and this includes fandoms.

When we talk about "checking out of society", we don't mean it practically(not possible btw). We mean servering all of our investment and emotional ties to the larger culture. We shouldn't want any place in it. There's 1000's of posts on this sub dealing with exactly how manhating and corrupt the mainstream and the larger culture is. Still want a place there?

It does make you feel lonely to detach and unroot yourself from it all, but I want to say, it passes, and it makes you smarter. You can see more collective lies for what they are that way.

And lastly, Kathleen Kennedy is miffed to see you go. How's she going to reprogram you into a self-sacrificing male feminist now that Indiana Jones is no longer a part of who you are?
