Edit : to be clear being ambiguous about your race is really common and nobody needs to know that info unless they're planning on having a serious long term relationship with you. There are plenty of black girls that suddenly turn west Indian around white people and there are plenty of light skin Latina women that simply put white on their dating bio. If you go back far enough in Hollywood, people would change their name and features to pass as white. It's a real phenomenon that people don't like to think about.

I still think it's lame and corny to lie directly but I'm not saying it's immoral. If they suffer harm from having sex with an Indian they're probably racist already and I don't respect their psychology 9 times out of 10.

Because it’s a lie? People who would swipe left on you because you put “indian” in your bio do not want to date an indian. You think they will magically change their mind when you show up and they can clearly tell you are indeed indian? You’ll just waste each others time at best. At worst you are ruining any potential relationship because noone wants to date someone who can’t even be honest about their ethnicity. If you lie about something like that, what else are you lying about?

I've never done dating apps but most people, when i travel to the states, are always surprised to find out I'm indian, when i meet them at bars/lounges/pools etc.

I will usually get latino or mixed, and the occasional light-skinned black guy.

I'm from vancouver where there is a huge indian population (and there's very few of the sterotypical indians as most were born and raised here) so it's never happened here. But it happens all the time when I go to the US as, it seems, most of the indians there are the stereotypical indians you see on TV.

Mind you, I'm also 6'2'', Shaved head, full sleeve tattoo, and have a beach body physique, so that makes me stand out from the stereotypical crowd.

Your entire premise sounds stupid as hell, especially the Harvard analogy. There’s literally no similarity between getting into a college and getting matched on a dating app.

I don’t really see how this will help you unless you are looking to mingle with the niche of girls who only want to fw black men. If you are good looking enough I doubt ppl will swipe left on you just bc you’re Indian. On top of that, If you’re going to fake it it’s objectively better to go for something like Latino because there aren’t as many deep set negative stereotypes associated as with black men
