You can start a men’s only meetup if you want. The problem is women only groups are seen as wonderful, empowering options while starting a men’s only group risks being labeled a misogynist.

Added: The “men left out” is a big thing nobody wants to acknowledge with women only venues, including, but not just meetup groups.

If there’s a women’s hiking group that meets Saturdays and a coed one on Sundays. But I can’t make Sundays, then I’m shut out, since I’m not allowed in the Saturday option.

If I want to learn to bake, but the only group is women only, then I’m out of luck, simply because I’m male.

If a commuter train dedicates half its cars to women but the coed cars are full, then women are allowed to get on while men will have to wait and be late for work.

If a gym makes 6-8 am women only hours, then men who can only work out before work are excluded.

Women only venues don’t offer opportunities for women that coed venues don’t, what they do is exclude men from opportunities.

First off: good on you for seeking to expand your social circle! A lot of people these days (men and women alike, but it's more prevalent among guys) don't get enough of that, and I'm glad to hear you're trying to improve things for yourself. Don't forget the importance of that part.

That said... yeah, we're left out kinda deliberately. But there's nothing but inertia stopping someone (maybe you) from starting a dads-only group. A men-only one might some backlash, but I don't know of any jurisdiction that forbids it outright- though I suppose Meetup itself might.

Meet Up groups are self created. Who is leaving you out, the mom's who create a group for themselves? "Deliberately left out". Sounds like complete entitled whining. Meet Up is a platform, not an organizer.

Yeah cause all these events are made by people, and not MeetUp website owners. If you are interested in men's empowerment then go make one and invite people, just like those women did.
