There's no need to wait. But if you're genuinely busy, don't make it your priority to respond to her ASAP.

Obviously if iMessage makes you 'see' it, as soon as you've seen it (which screws you over). "Where are you" when meeting for a date is answered instantly. If she got your number, anything congratulatory for having a good night with her is replied to in the morning after 10, and if she asks you out, your response is a time and a place.

Of course, this is all bullshit and you should do it whenever you feel like doing it, but keep 'chatting' to a minimum, it works in ways out and isn't productive in your circumstance or life.

In general, when it's not logistical (Hey! Where are you - the movie is starting!) 20 minutes.

If she is less responsive than YOU, a day.

Don't wait! Reply to her and then instantly send another message or 2 before she has a chance to respond, chicks love that, shows you're interested.
