Not that any intelligence is to be expected from Twitter/X, but just the other day I saw a comment from someone that was equal parts stupid and infuriating. He/she acknowledged misandry as existing but then went on to say it's a mere drop in the ocean compared to misogyny and not nearly as widespread or prominent or serious an issue and thus not a concern. This is arguably worse than actually denying misandry being real (which it absolutely is). Acknowleding it as existing but then downplaying and trivializing it, and making it out to be a non-issue when it absolutely is. An elephant in the room so to speak. Misandry is a major reason for things like how poorly boys do in schools and thus comprise the majority of dropouts, the disproportionate male suicide and homeless rates, the draft still being male-only, etc. to say nothing of how society and the government still largely fails to acknowledge men and boys also being victims of homicide, rape, domestic violence/abuse, trafficking, etc. (especially by female offenders). So many examples of misandry being both a real and serious problem but as always, misandrists make it out to be nothing of concern. It infuriates me so much. Misandry is far from being a "drop in the ocean," it's very much an ocean of both widespread hate and ignorance.
