Had a Christmas trip planned with my kids to visit their elderly grandparents, uncle and aunt and see NYC during Christmas for over a year. Cross country flight. We all live together but we are estranged. She was invited (documented with a text including flight info so she could buy her ticket). As it got closer to the trip she tried several times to get me to cancel based on school schedule conflicts, trip wasn’t during Christmas break, etc. School accommodated me completely. They were great. I wasn’t sure if she was actually going so a month prior I called the airline and since we have the same last name, pretended I was confused if we had one reservation or two and they confirmed she had her own reservation. Also saw her cc statement and saw the flight charge, two months before the flight. FF to the evening before the flight in the morning. She threatened to have “her lawyer” come to the airport and serve me with notice that I can’t take the kids out of state. This threat was because I was refusing to buy her an airline ticket (especially because I knew she already bought one). You read that right. A lot of bad things happened after that, but my question is can she actually have a lawyer stop me from taking OUR kids from CA to a different state in the U.S.? There are no complicating factors here. No divorce in progress. No criminal records, no filings, nothing. No health issues. No pending anything.
