Gentlemen, Is it okay to share my thoughts?

Reading this post makes my heart ache.

The thought of ever betraying my husband is unbearable—I could never remarry if I lost him, as no one could compare to him. I deeply appreciate all he does for me and show him daily in words and actions. True, healthy love is possible.

There are no "toxic women," only toxic people. I recently read two books about war brides who endured unimaginable betrayal—women crossing oceans to join their husbands, only to receive “Not Wanted, Don’t Come” telegrams or be abandoned at foreign ports. One woman, after a six-week voyage, discovered her soldier husband was already married, leaving her unwed, pregnant, and publicly shamed.

But I don’t believe all men are bad; narratives like 'toxic men' and 'toxic women' is dividing us and distracting us from the real issue. They're only toxic people.

I don't believe that marriage is a trap for either sex—it’s a profound commitment to love. Which sounds wishy-washy these days. But please hear me out if you would be so kind, gents...

The best description of love I've ever heard is willing to the good of another for their sake. - really think about that. Was this woman in the article or any other's like it willing the good for his sake? Ever? Were any of the scenarios that have hurt men or given you fuel for resentment coming from women who were willing to do good for the man's sake?

This entire forum is built on men who've seen and been hit by the backlash of someone (mainly women) who didn't will the good for their sake.

This sentiment goes both ways, men who rape and hurt women aren't willing the good for that woman's sake. They only will the good and pleasure for themselves. You'll find plenty of horror stories about abusive, controlling, awful men on women's rights forums. Much like you will find stories about users, gold digging, manipulative, narcissist ex-wives on this forum.

It's clear this isn't uniquely female behaviour, I disagree. It may look slightly different. But it's the same at it's core. It's the absence of sincere love.

I hope all the men who've been hurt can rise above bitterness, find sincere love, and see the beauty in male-female partnership when you begin to seek someone who wills the good for your sake.

This woman in this story is the epitome of everything I aspire not to be. Heinous.
