My boyfriend was not ten feet in front of me talking to two of the guys, and I was sort of drunk shuffling (not quite stumbling) behind with the guy who sets up most, if not all of the Reddit meetups. We had spoken to him at other meetups and he seemed like a friendly sociable person. We were speaking pleasantly (slurring) until lo and behold I feel his hand on my ass. I know I registered it was there but I was so stunned, and so taken aback that I couldn't for the life of me say a thing. I don't remember if he was as drunk as I was. He might have only been buzzed, he might have been wasted, I know that that doesn't change what he did but I also know that alcohol can make people do incredibly stupid things. His hand stays there for a good three or four blocks, and I don't remember if I spoke to him, or if I was silent. But his hand keeps going back and fourth on my rear and again, I can't muster any words.

I have told my boyfriend about it and he's adamant on not meeting up with these people again. I agreed, but reminded him this really limits us in terms of socializing...

What she really wants to do is make a post on reddit, so she can show her boyfriend that reddit thinks she should continue to attend these events. Then she can collect attention, dread her boyfriend, or whatever she feels like.

The meetup organizer is a sort of default alpha, just by running the group and having a social network, which she values over her own dignity.

Already discarding responsibility by not wanting to identify herself. Story may as well be fiction.

EDIT: finally muscled through reading the whole story. She admits to being BLASTED off her ass drunk. How does she know she didn't fabricate the whole thing in her mind the next day after blacking out? Even if it is true, "3 to 4 blocks" means she liked the guy's hand being there. Period. Notice the last thing on her mind was screaming to her "boyfriend" "hey, come back here and get this guy's hand off my ass!"

This doesn't quite compute. She was "so stunned" that she walked 3-4 city blocks, which takes some time when you're drunk and shuffling around, with this guy's hand glued to her ass the entire time, and never said anything, even though a whole bunch of people, including her boyfriend, were right there. And never made a move to stop him. She was just too shocked.

I mean, if I were the guy putting my hand on her ass, I'd think she liked me and I had a shot if she didn't reject my advance. Women are supposed to reject unwelcome advances. That's how you know they're unwelcome. This guy mustered up his courage (probably with the assistance of alcohol) and decided he'd make a bid for this girl he liked, even though she had a boyfriend, and made a clear sexual advance. Thanks to this woman's inability to communicate, this guy probably now thinks she likes him back since she left his hand on her ass for 5-10 minutes, didn't tell him no, didn't stop him, and didn't tell anybody about it (until long after the event).

Apparently, men are just supposed to assume that any time a woman doesn't reject their advances, it's just because they're shocked, stunned, scared, and embarrassed. You're stupid if you assume that a woman's absence of rejection means she likes you and you have a shot.
