I use an android phone which backs up my photos and sometimes makes collections for me that I usually ignore. This time I looked and it was about "celebration time" or something like that. One pic was a birthday cake (store bought which is rare in this family). I saw the date and it was MY birthday and it was 3 days before my ex ran across the country with my child to be with her affair partner. This was in 2020, I am mostly over it but that cake made me irrationally angry. She pretended to care about my birthday (but not enough to bake a cake) just to buy a few days peace until she ran away.

Life is great now...I have my kid full time. It shouldn't have even annoyed me but it VERY much did. I shared the photo to a message to my ex and started writing a scathing text message about how extra this was for a woman who was about to do what she went and did. Right as I was about to press send my best bro called me. This is rare, he and I are text friends and meet up to hang out. We don't chat on the phone. I answered with "bro, you have to tell me...why are you calling me in this exact moment". He laughed and said "I don't really know, I just felt like I should". I died laughing and explained what he just interrupted. My thoughts were spiraling and I was about to let my ex wife know that she still bothers me (mortal sin for all of us). I hanged up the phone, turned on Elton John's "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" and thanked God for bros.

Whatever you're going thru, reach out to someone if your thoughts need an interruption. It can save you some embarrassment
