First of all, common sense dictates if your going into a long term relationship with a woman, you need to be honest about your life story and what you do for a living because she will eventually find out, unless your super slick. So no argument there, its pretty common knowledge that honesty is the best policy if long term relationships are your goal.

Now if your main goal is just to have a f**k buddy (play partner, FWB, someone you strictly have sex with, non committed relationship) , is it best to "NOT be HONEST about your life story? What I mean is that I have been in many situations where I meet a girl that was into me and then she ended up rejecting me when I told her the truth about what I did for a living. I've even had girls reject me when they found out my real age (even though they would have never guessed my age). For example I am 40 years old but some girls would believe me if I told them I was in my 20's.

I am wondering if I am shooting myself in the foot by being too honest about certain things, when if my goal is just to f**k, maybe I should just make stuff up?

Of course you tell the truth about your std status and things like that, but things like, what you do for a living, how old you are, etc, maybe its ok to lie about that?

I am curious what most of you do or what is recommended?
