You don't have to do anything to keep a girl interested between dates. Nothing!!! So many guys get this wrong. They think they have to do something to keep a girl interested. Wrong!! That's have a needy & insecure mindset that presumes you're the loser and she's the prize.

What does this mean? You text her to set up the second date right? Ok. Once you have done that you shut up!!! Don't text her "how was your day" or any other bullshit.

There are exceptions: IF she seems super interested in chatting with you. Then by all means continue the conversation. But don't try to force it.

It's also a good idea to send a "see you soon" message about 2 hours before the second date. Just to verify you're not about to get ghosted. But that's all that is required.

You are the prize. She will not "lose interest" if you don't do much. She will be interested for years. Have a positive assumption!

Try to kiss in the middle of the first date. Leaving at the end is never a good idea. But I guess is better than not kissing at all.

Regarding texting. If a girl texts u first then it means she has very high investment in you. U only need to match her energy by 90%. Leave 10% for yourself. It’s the easy mode.

If she doesn’t text u. Then she has low investment in u. In that case u have to match her energy and increase by 10%. It’s not ideal situation, but if u don’t text at all then it’s game over.
